The Uses For Scientific Digital Imaging

Scientific digital imaging systems have revolutionized many branches of science and medicine. Precision imaging, at the micro and macro level, now allow us to look farther and deeper into the world around us than we have ever have before. Debates in fields as diverse as philosophy and physics are being answered, questions that have puzzled mankind for centuries. Digital imagining is revolutionizing the sciences, including medicine, and our understanding of the world we live in

Micro imagining has allowed the smallest things to leap into focus. Cellular studies in biology and medicine can now be captured digitally and recorded for analysis. The ability to peer into the underlying structure of cells has opened the door to scientific discovery of how cells split, grow and die.

Engineers working with underwater cameras spied under an arctic glacier and were surprised to find a submerged range of mountains that possibly no one had suspected existed. Further exploration has continued on Antarctica and in places on Earth where no one suspected life could survive. With super sensitive cameras, scientists can now record animals in the wild using motion detectors, creating images that have not been captured before for studies about wildlife conservation.

From a macro point of view, astrophysics use digital images and sophisticated computer applications to look at the night sky with new eyes. With the use of advanced telescopes, they are unraveling the mysteries of the faraway stars. They have discovered light from the Big Bang, now thirteen billion light years away from Earth. Microwave radiation and gamma waves are also possible to view with digital images, though they exist out of the spectrum of light that the human eye can see.

With these amazing images, scientists can determine if galaxies are moving toward us or away by the red or blue shift in the light. This has increased our understanding that we live in an expanding universe, not a static one and provided insight into the nature of gravity on a large scale.

For centuries, philosophers debated the nature of consciousness. Now, science is chiming in as neurologists have the ability to watch the brain in action. The separation, made by Rene Descartes in his book Meditations in 1641, for example of the mind from the brain, with contact occurring via the pineal gland is not holding up well to scientific scrutiny.

Doctors now use digital imagining to examine their patients. This is used by surgeons to determine when to operate. Neonatal imagining can help doctors diagnose medical conditions while a child is still in the uterus. Dentists also use sophisticated images to evaluate the health of the bones for the jaw.

So, from outer galaxies to the chair in the dentist office, Scientific Digital Imaging is changing the way science understands the universe around us. Life can now be examined at a cellular level, contributing to our understanding of medicine and genetics. The inaccessible place on the planet have come into view. With advances continuing, this may be just the tip of the iceberg of discovery.



Defining Science And Its Different Branches

Every student need to take up science. In every curriculum, there will always be science since it plays a major role in this world that we are living in. It is through science wherein man is able to discover new things. Science has many branches and the different branches of science will help the individual with regards to his research study or investigation. When you research something, there is a specific branch of science that you will use. You will apply the different theories and concepts of the specific branch of science on your investigation.

Science may be defined as the development and systematization of positive knowledge about the universe as w hole. It is generally viewed as a cumulative and progressive activity by its nature. Such view, however, have profound philosophical implications and in fact the effort to define the nature of science is in itself part of the history of science.

The aim of education in science is to help the people particularly the young to develop an understanding of the content of science and the methods or processes which the content is produced. Time and dedication has to be given to the different hands on activities or laboratory work. The laboratory work will help explain the different theories of science.

One major goal of including science in education is to provide the people with an understanding of the interaction of science, technology and society. It will enable the individual to have a better view of the effects of the technological and scientific developments to the society and how science has influenced the societal pressures of the society.

As mentioned earlier, there are different branches of science that an individual needs to fully understand the same as how an individual needs to fully understand the functions and features of the stun gun for sale in the market. And since there are plenty of them, only a few and the basic branches of science that is learned at school will be defined here. First is anatomy and physiology. Anatomy and physiology deals with the structure and the organization of living things and how they function in the society like human beings for instance. Second is chemistry. Chemistry is that branch of science that deals with matter and its interactions with energy and itself. The composition, structure and properties of matter are studied as well as how it changes when it undergoes chemical reactions.

Physics is a branch of science that also deals with the properties of matter as well including its motion through space and time. It also studies the concepts of energy and force. A lot of mathematical computations are involved here particularly when it comes to the measurement of speed and force.

Biology is a natural science which deals with the study of life and living organisms and this includes their functions, their growth, origin, distribution and all the matters concerning their existence. Microbiology focuses on the study of microorganisms, viruses, bacteria and how they can affect the human body. Ecology on the other hand is the study of how organisms interact with each other and how they interact with the environment as well.

There are still many branches of science that needs to be studied and defined. The ones mentioned above are the most common and being introduced in any educational levels similar to how common pepper spray is to women despite of the fact that there are plenty of self defense weapons in the market. Studying science is interesting and it will all help the people to better understand the things that surround them.



Science and the Bible

People have used science to try and discredit the bible. According to some the bible has now become an "outdated book" because science can now give us all the knowledge we need. However all the scientific knowledge gathered so far are still more or less theories and are still yet to be proven as fact. So while some areas of science are valid, there are still categories of information that need to be tested or established.

Science is basically the gathering of knowledge to better understand the how and why of how things work as it relates to the world and the universe. Science and technology go hand in hand as they are both dependent on each other.

There are two categories of science:

  1. Exact Sciences - these would include physics, chemistry, biology etc. For exact science the certainty of information is greater and in some cases the function is more analytical, while in others it is mostly descriptive.
  2. Non Exact Sciences - History, Sociology and Humanities. For the non-exact sciences, the degree of definiteness is small, but in some branches exactness is allowed. That is why you can detect biasness in some areas, but not in others.
The methods for study and analysis will differ from discipline to discipline and the methods of investigation and analysis will be valid from one field but not for another. What is important though is that logic be used in the methods of investigation. Logic helps in determining what is true from false.

Therefore, one has to be careful when discussing the Bible and science. Science is a good thing and has made great strides especially in recent times, but in a lot of cases it has been used to discredit God and the Bible.

In the world of science, information can be categorized as theories and facts. Information that is based on theory should have no place in discussions about the bible and science, only those that deal with the facts and laws of science. When using scientific information based on facts, you will find that a lot of misconceptions about the bible will disappear.

Scientific Models

A model is used when studying things that cannot be easily handled. There are two types of models - qualitative or descriptive models and quantitative or mathematical models.

The theory of evolution and scientific creation are both examples of scientific models. However, the evolutionist should not claim his model is truth. He should rather state that his model is a possibility in which life came into being.

Testing of both models should be able to explain:

  1. the maximum number of observed phenomena related to life, and
  2. the maximum number of predictions about phenomena related to life, but not observed so far.
Only the Scientific Creation module has been able to do this.

In the world of Science, model making is a must. However, it must be understood that the model itself is not truth but only a representation of the truth. Therefore, the Christian Apologist must be wary when scientific theories are used in debates or discussions with the bible.

Historical Science

Science has really advanced over the years. It is used in a variety of ways to find answers to questions that long ago seemed impossible to answer. However, when it comes to the bible, we must understand that material science cannot explain or give answers to those questions that come out of the bible. We must look to historical science.

The Origin of the Universe, Life and Archaeology belongs with Historical studies. Demanding scientific proof for historical events in the Bible is beyond reason and shows the lack of knowledge about scientific investigation.

The Christian Apologist must make it known to his opponents who use physical science to discredit the bible that you cannot mix the two for their own biases and purposes.
